These little canelés are a sweet study in beeswax + pastry. Inspired by the golden, caramelized treats found in the windows of Parisian pâtisseries, our Canelé candle is made with molasses beeswax, older hive wax with a naturally deeper tone and a beautifully robust sweetness, touched with the faintest bitter note. Still, simply, beeswax.
The canelé itself hails from Bordeaux, traditionally baked in a fluted copper mold brushed with beeswax to create its signature dark, caramelized crust.
We loved the thought of that connection, pastry shaped by beeswax, and from it, Waxing Moon created their own little canelé.
A candle that looks almost good enough to eat.
